Mrs. Audrey Jeanette Vipond Bailey, 90, of Walterboro, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 2, 2015. She was the widow of Nolan Ray Bailey, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow at 2 pm at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort. Following the interment, the Walterboro Elk's Lodge will be providing a meal for Mrs. Audrey's family and friends at the Lodge at approximately 5:30 pm, 236 Milestone Lane, Walterboro.

Born September 20, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late William Vipond and Viola Crackell Vipond. Mrs. Bailey served her country faithfully in the United States Navy during World War II.

Surviving are: her children, Nolan Ray Bailey, II (Sharon) of Walterboro, William Wesley “Bill” Bailey (Sharon) of Guyton, Georgia, Gerald Lee Bailey (Jeanette) of Walterboro, John Russell Bailey (Wanda) of Walterboro, and Audrey Caroline Bailey Crosby (Gene) of Walterboro; sisters, Darlene Spence and Grace Ellen Wangbickler, both of Michigan; a special friend, Lou Beach of Walterboro; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: FoCCAS, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488; or to the charity of one’s choice.

The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Gerald, 745 Haymakers Lane, Walterboro.
