Audrey Bunch Austin

Mrs. Audrey Mae Bunch Austin, age 86, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, March 21, 2015, at her home in Walterboro while under the care of Regency Hospice.  She was the widow of Mr. Albert E. “Shorty” Austin.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, March 24, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

Mrs. Austin was born May 28, 1928, in Holly Hill, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Joel Morgan Bunch and the late Devina Risher Bunch.  She was retired from the Colleton County School System and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro where in her earlier years she loved keeping the church nursery.

Mrs. Austin is survived by her five children, Riley Austin, David Austin (Lizzy), Ann Iriel (Whaley), Diane Bazzle, and Cindy George (Ray), all of Walterboro; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings, her twin sister, Estis Hill of Ridgeville, Lucile Clark of Cross, John Bunch of Holly Hill and St. Luke Bunch of Holly Hill.  She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Annette Johnson; her son-in-law, Douglas Bazzle; four sisters, Dora Coker, Anna Bunch, Dorothy Cooper, and Helen Huff; and two brothers, Bill Bunch and Asbury Bunch.
