Mr. Archie Irvin Spell, 72, of Gilbert, entered into eternal rest Tuesday evening, April 1, 2025, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born August 17, 1952, in Charleston, he was a son of the late Thomas Bryant Spell and Louise Simmons Spell. He was employed by South Carolina Electric and Gas (SCANA), having first worked at the plant in Canadys and then in Columbia. He worked for many years as a Plant Manager and after 43 years he retired in 2019. He was an electrician by trade.
Archie was a member of Mt. Horeb Global Methodist Church in Lexington and served on the sign committee. He loved playing basketball in high school and later in life enjoyed playing with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and especially fishing in the Edisto River and Lake Murray. Archie was deeply devoted to his family and loved spending time with them.
Surviving are: his wife of 50 years, Kim Wright Spell of Gilbert; sons, Matthew Spell (Page) of Lexington and Kevin Spell (Rebecca) of Lexington; brother, Tony Spell of Florence; sister, Sybil Griffin (Steve) of Walterboro; and grandchildren, Hayden Spell, Logan “Henry” Spell, Keegan Spell, Gabe Spell, Asher Spell, and Emmagrace Spell. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Spell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Doctors Creek Baptist Church, 126 Doctors Creek Road, Walterboro. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 1:30 pm in the church sanctuary.
