Mr. Anthony Martin Plazar, affectionately known by many as Tony, age 82, of 520 Merrick Drive in Round O, entered into his eternal rest Monday morning, August 17, 2009, at the home of his beloved friend and companion under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Saturday afternoon, August 22, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.
Tony passed away in his sleep with out pain and was confident in is faith and certain of his salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ. He was born April 1, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan and was a son of the late Antone and Anna Plazar. He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy where he retired with the rank of E-6, having devoted many years in service as a chief. He was also a cabinet maker by trade, always enjoying wood crafting. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Round O where he was the former director of the Senior Adult Choir. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all those whom his life touched.
He is survived by his beloved friend and companion, Mrs. Viola Thompson DuBose and her children, David Cartin and his wife Diane of Round O, Patrick Cartin and his wife Terri of Charleston, and Nortin Cartin of Round O; a sister, Trudy Bommarilo and her husband John of Clyde, Ohio and her children, Anthony Bommarilo and his wife Krista of Ohio, Laura Kramer and her husband James of Kentucky, Deanna Reinhardt and her husband Gary of Ohio, and Jon Bommarilo of Ohio; three great nephews and two great nieces; his step-children; Billy Grooms of Walterboro, Patricia Tice of Ehrhardt, Joan Sears and her husband R.C. of Walterboro, and Carol Hall and her husband Joseph of Virginia; a step daughter-in-law, Ann Grooms of Georgia; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Mary Plazar and a step-son Bobby Grooms.
