Mrs. Annie Mae Knowles Robertson, 88, of Charleston, entered into her state of eternal rest Sunday evening, October 24, 2010, at the White Oak Manor in North Charleston. She was the widow of Mr. Cleon Leroy Robertson.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 oclock Thursday afternoon, October 28, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Barry Morehead officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel United Methodist Churchyard, 5277 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Mrs. Robertson was born May 28, 1922, in Russell, Florida and was a daughter of the late Robert Emanuel Knowles and the late Annie Iona Shedd Knowles. She was a retired quality control inspector from Smoaks Manufacturing and was a member of Ruffin Baptist Church.
Surviving are: a son, Robert L. Robertson and his wife Frances of Ruffin; two daughters, Betty Ann Robertson Kain of Ladson and Carol Robertson Broach and her husband James of Mount Pleasant; a brother, Elbert Thomas Knowles of Bostwick, Florida; and a sister, Effie Wilson Quinn of Ruffin. There are four grandchildren, James H. Broach, Jr., Edwin L. Kain, Robert B. Kain, and Nicole Robertson Cain; as well as eight great grandchildren, Aaron, Caroline, and Jack Kain, Madison and Jay Broach, and Will, Ben, and Bre Cain that also survive. She was preceded in death by four brothers; a sister; and a son-in-law, Edward S. Kain, Jr.
