WALTERBORO " Mrs. Annie Louise Dandridge Hiers, 92, formerly of Charleston, entered into her eternal rest Saturday morning, December 12, 2009, at Heritage Health Care of Walterboro. She was twice married, first to the late Mr. Marion W. Rhode, Sr. and was the widow of Mr. John Hiers.



Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Tuesday morning, December 15, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Bobby Etheridge officiating. Interment will follow in Fox Cemetery.



Mrs. Hiers was born September 4, 1917, in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Benjamin Pinckney Dandridge and the late Lessard Ackerman Dandridge. For thirty-nine years she was a sales clerk with Belks in Charleston, a job she remained dedicated to and worked faithfully until her retirement. She was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church and was also a member of the Care and Share Cancer Survivors Group.



Surviving are: her son, Raymond Rhode and his wife Lynn of Round O; a step-daughter, Barbara Snipes of Goose Creek; and two half-brothers, Charles Dandridge and Wayne Dandridge, both of Walterboro. There are three grandchildren, Ray Rhode, Lisa Masneri, and Julie Sharpton; as well as seven great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by an infant son; and a brother, Boyd Dandridge.



Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has suggested that a memorial contribution be directed in her memory to: Spring Hill Baptist Church, 1671 Rehoboth Road, Cottageville, South Carolina 29435.
