Mrs. Annette Mae Clouston Helmey, 76, of Burlington Road, Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Colleton Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 7 pm, Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Canaan Baptist Church.
Mrs. Helmey was born September 3, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY and was a daughter of the late John R. Clouston, Sr. and Amelia Calandra Clouston. She was formerly a weaver with JP Stevens and was a retired baker with BILO. She was also the owner of Tas-T-O's Doughnut Shop in Walterboro for many years. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.
Surviving are: her husband, Leroy Laverne Helmey of Walterboro; children, Ralph E. Helmey and his wife Darlene of Smoaks, Linda Neuroth and her husband Troy of Walterboro, Caddie Richardson and her husband Mike of Reevesville, Wanda Hardee and her husband Mike of Walterboro, and Reuben Myers of Smoaks; grandchildren, Michael Thomas and his wife Amanda, Krystal Bunton and her husband Ken, William Myers, Samantha Helmey, Marcus Neuroth, Scott Walker and his wife Amber, Derrick Haman and his wife Jennie, Leanne Huggins, Ashley Nicole Hardee, Hailey Hardee, and Bud Myers; 8 great grandchildren, nephew, Andrew Swallow of Long Island, NY; and a niece, Pat Cloyed of St. Petersburg, FL. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and John Thomas; and a brother, John R. Clouston, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Canaan Baptist Church and Amedysis Hospice.
