Mrs. Anne Newman Youmans, 91, of 416 Sarah Street in Walterboro, entered into her eternal rest on the morning of Thursday, September 17, 2009, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. She was the wife of the late Mr. William Robert Youmans.
A celebration of the life she lived will be celebrated 11 oclock Saturday morning, September 19, 2009, from Grace Advent Christian Church, 398 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro with The Reverend Wayne Lucas and The Reverend Nelson Howe officiating.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the Narthex of Grace Church.
Mrs. Youmans was born October 13, 1918 in Bryan County, Georgia and was a daughter of the late Neil Newman and the late Orema Kelhar White. During her life, she worked various jobs, but was most noted for her care and love she devoted at home caring for her husband and children. She was a member of Grace Advent Christian Church where she was an active member and participated in various areas of the churchs activities and work. She was talented at the art of crocheting, having created many beautiful pieces that shall remains as treasured memories for her family and friends. She will be remembered for her love of family and friends and for being an active and vital woman throughout her life.
Surviving are: a daughter, Juanita Youmans Bryant of Charleston; six grandchildren, Burts Bryant, Michael Bryant, Marianne Barrows, Cindy Overlock, Virginia Ann Taylor, and Johnna Simpson.; thirteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Youmans Oswald of Allendale and a son-in-law, John Burts Jack Bryant.
