Anne Goettee Boehm

Ms. Anne “Anna-Belle” or “Rabbit” Goettee Boehm, 99, of Hampton, South Carolina, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021, at Hampton Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Boehm was born June 6, 1922, in Hampton, South Carolina, to the late Mr. Abe Washington Goettee and the late Mrs. Viola McAlhaney Goettee.  She was given the name “Rabbit” by her brothers as a kid and the nickname followed her all throughout life.  She was a lifelong member of Hopewell Baptist Church and a proud Veteran, having served four years in the United States Navy.  For twenty years she worked as the Secretary Sales Manager for Delta Airlines and after several years retired as the District Director Secretary with Delta Airlines in New Orleans, Louisiana.  She possessed a great appreciation for the beauty of Hummingbirds.

She is survived by: her brother, Aubrey Goettee, Sr. (Betty); nephews, Aubrey Goettee, Jr. and Allen Goettee (Lynn); nieces, Donna Ruth (Jay), Audrey G. Hutchins (Robert), and Terri Green (Terry).  She is also survived by her great-nephews, Trey Goettee and Jeremy Goettee and great-nieces, Kristen Hutchins, Reeves Goettee and Mills Goettee.  She leaves behind numerous cousins and her dear friends, Irene Deloach, Liza Padgett, Georgeann Sullivan, Sandra Chesser and her cat companion, Max.

She was preceded in death by: her brothers, Abe Goettee, Jr., Homer Goettee, George Goettee, Sr., and Michel Goettee; a sister, Ada Goettee; sisters-in-law, Lib Goettee, Mamie Goettee and Mozelle Goettee; and a nephew, George Goettee, Jr.  She was also preceded in death by an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, August 7, 2021, from Hopewell Baptist Church, 6404 Hopewell Road, Hampton, SC 29924. Interment will follow in the churchyard.  The family would like to receive friends following the committal.
