Angela Piaseczny

Angela Mae Gawel Piaseczny, 63, of Ruffin, SC, passed away Tuesday evening in her home surrounded by her family on November 12, 2024.

Angie was born on April 17th, 1961 to Fabian and Vera Gawel in Bangor, Maine. After Angie graduated high school in Manchester, NH in 1979, she married her high school sweetheart Daniel Piaseczny and set up their home in Virginia. Angie and Daniel went on to have two children, Rebecca and Jason, and a few short years later moved to Westford, VT. Angie spent the following years raising their children, and eventually went on to become an in-home caregiver and started her own business as a payroll specialist.

After the passing of her husband Daniel in 2010, Angie moved to Ruffin to join her family. Angie retired to raise her grandchildren Nathaniel and Emilia, and spent her free time reading, gardening, and enjoying time with family. Angie will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, compassionate heart, love of children, and beautiful personality.

Angie was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Piaseczny and she is survived by her parents, Fabian and Vera Gawel of Ruffin; her daughter Rebecca LaBree, her husband, Shawn and her grandchildren Nathaniel and Emilia LaBree of Cottageville; her son, Jason Piaseczny of Walterboro; brother Richard Gawel and his wife Jocelyne of Goffstown, NH; sisters Mary O’Quinn and her husband Kenny of Walterboro; Betty Niepmann and her husband Guy of Summerville; Kathryn Gooding and her husband Marty of Ruffin; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Services will be held 5 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, November 16, 2024, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.
