Mrs. Angel Marie Pye Maxey, 38, of Cottageville, entered into her state of eternal rest Tuesday afternoon, August 3, 2010, at the Hospice Center of Charleston in Mount Pleasant.



Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Friday morning, August 6, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Bobby Ethridge and The Reverend James Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Meeting House Cemetery, Meeting House Road, Cottageville.



Angel was born December 27, 1971, in Colleton County and was a daughter of Henry Leon Mickey Pye and Nancy Hughes Pye. She was a hair stylist with many trades and talents to her industry, having owned Just Teasin in Summerville. She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church in Cottageville. Angel loved the outdoors and possessed and avid love for animals but more especially her horses.



Surviving in addition to her parents of Cottageville are: a brother, Mickey Joe Pye and his wife Tina and their daughter Michelle of Cottageville; two whom she loved as sisters, April and Rebecca along with children Diamond Mixon and Mackenzie Seigler all of Cottageville; a paternal grandmother, Annie Ruth Pye of Cottageville; a maternal grandmother, Juanita Robertson of Cottageville; a maternal grandfather, Eugene Hughes of Cottageville; two uncles, Ricky Mixon and Joseph Hughes both of Cottageville; and a special and loving friend, Nicky Maxey and her two children, Storm and Summer Rogers of Walterboro. She was preceded in death by a special friend and companion, David Gee, who died February, 2010.



The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Charleston, The Hospice Center in Mount Pleasant, and Nurse Anita Christian; as well as, Spring Hill Baptist Church and Welch Creek Baptist Church, for the tremendous amount of love and support given to the family during the past months.



Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has respectfully requested that a memorial contribution be directed in her memory to the following: Colleton County Relay for Life, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston , South Carolina 29406; or to, Hospice of Charleston for the Hospice Center, 676 Wando Park Boulevard, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina 29464.
