Alma Kiser

Mrs. Alma Ramsey Kiser, 85, of Walterboro, entered into rest eternal Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2014, at the Lexington Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Kiser was twice married, first to the late Mr. Samuel C. Jones and was the widow of Mr. Leonard Maxwell Kiser.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, June 28, 2014, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in the Kiser Family Plot at Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.

Born August 6, 1928, a native of Hendersonville, South Carolina, she was the last surviving daughter of the late Earl Lewis Ramsey and the late Juanita Jones Ramsey. She was raised to love and honor the Lord in her family church, Black Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro where throughout her life her membership always remained. A truly loving mother, who centered her life around her loving family and adored grandchildren, she will always be remembered for the devotion and dedication she gave to others. Her precious smile and sweet spirit that never met a stranger, will forever live as a cherished memory and inspiration as well as her fantastic talent with preparing great southern food. Alma also loved to dance, a pastime few may not have known about her, and was a member of the Frontier Twirlers.

Surviving are: her three daughters, Dianne Jones Bell of Walterboro, Sandra Jones Hill of Columbia, and Rhonda Jones Strickland and her husband Justin of Lexington and Edisto Beach; as well as her last surviving sibling, her baby brother whom she adored, Robert Ramsey and his wife, Carolyn Rhodes Ramsey of Walterboro. There are six grandchildren, Rodney Dwayne Zeigler, Preston Brooks Zeigler, Katina Lauren Crosby, Kevin Ashley Hill, Feddie Justin Strickland, II, and Chancelor Ramsey Strickland; as well as six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
