Alice Eads Seigel

Mrs. Alice Risher Eads Seigel, age 80, of Delancey Circle in North Charleston, entered into her eternal rest on the evening of Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Life Care Center of Charleston.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, September 27, 2011, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Ricky Crosby officiating. Interment will follow on the family plot in the Evergreen Christian Churchyard, Bells Highway, Walterboro.

Mrs. Seigel was born August 26, 1931, in Walterboro, South Carolina and was the youngest child of the late Ira L. Risher and the late Donnie Langdale Risher. From a young age, she had a strong desire for fashion and design, becoming her passion she devoted a lifetime to this trade, devoting much of her life and pastimes to its calling. She was the co-founder and retired co-owner of the former Alice-Faye Fashions in Charleston. She was reared in the family church in Walterboro, Evergreen Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

Surviving are: two sons, Dennis Welch and Allen Welch of Charleston; two brothers, Ladson Risher and Jimmy Risher both of Walterboro; and five sisters, Faye Atwood of Charleston, Ethel Hiott of Walterboro, Rudell Rivers of Walterboro, Ida Mae Crosby of Walterboro, and Ruby Deas of Charleston. There are four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren that also survive.

Flowers will be accepted, or for those who wish, the family has respectfully requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Odyssey Hospice, 5965 Core Road, Suite 603, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 this Monday evening, at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, 843.572.2339.
