Mrs. Alice Kinard Gibson, 79, of Ehrhardt, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 29, 2013 at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. She was the widow of William Henry Bill Gibson.
Funeral services will be held 11 oclock Monday, April 1, 2013 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Ehrhardt. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Gibson was born October 24, 1933 in Bamberg County and was a daughter of the late George William Kinard and Eddra Fender Kinard Kay; and the stepdaughter of the late William Horace Kay. She retired from Devan Manufacturing in Allendale. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Womens Missionary Group. She was also a member of the cancer survivors group, Bosom Buddies in Hampton and a member of Woodmen of the World.
She is survived by: one nephew, Michael F. Kay, II (Anna) of West Columbia; 2 nieces, Miranda K. Smith (Jeremy) of West Columbia and Ann Bridges of Hampton; 2 sisters-in-law, Dianne Kay of West Columbia and Melda Kinard of Hampton; 3 great nieces, Norah Kay of West Columbia, Nicole Smith (Bryan) of Grays, and Kimberly Bridges of Charleston; 4 great nephews, Asher Kay, Layne Kay, Barrett Smith and Cooper Smith, all of West Columbia; 1 great great nephew, Cade Smith of Grays; and special cousins, Gloria Duncan of Ehrhardt, Donna Moore of Lodge, Rusty Kinard of Lodge, Rick Beheler of Indiana, Gayle Willis of Alabama, Cathy Butler of Florida and J.J. Crosby of Sycamore. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William Jack Kinard, Joseph W. Wink Kinard and Michael Kay.
