Alice Busby

Mrs. Alice Boone Busby, 67, of Edmund Highway in Lexington, entered into rest Sunday afternoon, July 13, 2014, at the Lexington Medical Center.

Born December 2, 1946, a native of Gaston, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Boone and the late Hazel Pound Boone. A devoted homemaker, she loving centered her life around her family, being remembered forever as a truly caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are: her husband of fifty years, Mr. David Howard “Butch” Busby; three daughters, Barbara Farris of Lexington, Hazel Sightler and her husband Marty of Gaston, and Leigh Ann Cleland and her husband Rudy of Varnville; three brothers, Marion Boone, Tim Boone, and Archie Boone; and two sisters, Judy Rabon, Penny Finan. There are ten grandchildren, Ashley Keech, Jason Byrd, Alicia Phelps, Carl Sightler, Brittany Shearer, Adam Bishop, David Bishop, Daniel Bishop, Kaila Bishop and James Cleland; as well as seventeen great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by her only son, Carl Busby.
