Mrs. Alene Crosby Jones, 88, of Beaufort, entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 24, 2010 at her residence. She was the widow of Robert C. Bob Jones.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Monday, June 28, 2010 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Doctors Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Following the interment, the family will gather at the home of Vic and Rhonda Crosby, 530 Clydeville Lane, Cottageville.
Mrs. Jones was born December 8, 1921 in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Quillie Crosby and Fannie Robertson Crosby. She was the owner of Bob Jones Mobile Home Park in Beaufort for over 50 years. She loved tending to her flowers, watching birds, and loved her cats; but will be remembered most for the love she had for her family and for her love of dancing, especially The Twist.
Surviving are: her son, DW Crosby of Cottageville; grandchildren, Rhonda Crosby McLauchlin and her husband Charles Bubbie McLauchlin and Vic Crosby and his wife Rhonda, all of Walterboro, and Susan Crosby Phillips of Summerville; granddaughter-in-law, Robin Crosby of Beaufort; great grandchildren, Brittany Crosby Carter and Robert Craig Crosby, both of Beaufort and Alexandria McLauchlin, Patrick McLauchlin and Susie McLauchlin, all of Walterboro, great great grandchildren, Amelia Elizabeth Carter and Emma Grace Carter, both of Beaufort; and a special nephew, William T. Young of Provo, Utah. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Craig Crosby; sister, Aline Smyly; and brothers, Renford Crosby and Quillie Crosby.
