Adrienne Ulmer

January 19, 1948 — January 9, 2016

Mrs. Adrienne Medlin Ulmer, 67, of Ruffin, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, January 9, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Bethel United Methodist Church-Ruffin Charge, 16147 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Born January 19, 1948 in Ehrhardt, she was a daughter of the late William Wallace Medlin and Barbara Loadholt Medlin.  She was a longtime employee of Farmers and Merchants Bank in Walterboro; and retired from NASA where she worked in configuration management at the Kennedy Space Center.

Mrs. Ulmer grew up in Ehrhardt Baptist Church and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church-Ruffin Charge. She dearly loved her church and her church family.  She was a member of the Enoch Henry Ulmer Sunday School Class and very active in many aspects of the church’s work.  She loved reading, traveling and going to Edisto Beach with her best friend to listen to the waves.  Most of all, she loved her family and centered her life around them.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Surviving are: her husband of 49 years, Larry Ulmer of Ruffin; children, Dr. Ward Ulmer and his wife Rachel of Greensboro, North Carolina, Tara Ulmer Brock and her husband Jon of Titusville, Florida and Kelly Ulmer Wurtzbacher of Titusville, Florida; grandchildren, Jessica, Miley, Caden, Sheldon, Collin, Camryn, Logan and Dolan; brother, Harry Wallace Medlin of Bamberg; sisters, Marilyn Medlin Hedgepath of Orangeburg and Traci Medlin Bergum of Martinez, Georgia; her beloved yellow lab, Lad; and many nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Hospice Care of South Carolina-Colleton County, 134 Bells Highway, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488; or to: Bethel United Methodist Church- Ruffin Charge, in honor of the Enoch Henry Ulmer Sunday School Class, in care of Carolyn Breland, 573 Spencer Drive, Ruffin, SC 29475.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Care of South Carolina for all of the wonderful care they have given to Mrs. Adrienne during this time.
