William Thomas Hiott

Mr. William Thomas Hiott, also known as “W.T.”, 85, of Walterboro, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at his daughter’s residence in Gaston. 

Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, January 13, 2018 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in Grace Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

Born March 8, 1932 in Walterboro, he was a son of the late Arnold Thomas Hiott and Jessie Farrell Hiott.  He was a retired building contractor of over 52 years.  He will always be remembered as a loving man and as someone who enjoyed picking on the people he loved.

Surviving are: his children, Rose Hiott Lucas of Gaston, Barbara Hiott Bailey of Gaston, and Malcolm Hiott of Walterboro; his second wife, Emma B. Watton of Gaston; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Blondie Hiott; longtime companion and soul mate, Mary Cromer; sons, Jerry Hiott, Terry Hiott and Arnold Hiott; step-daughter, Cindy Hiott; brothers, Riddick Hiott and Julius Hiott; and sisters, Marian Bazzle, Helen Hamilton, and Ruth Hiott.
