William “Keith” Bishop, 67, of Walterboro, SC, entered into eternal rest on January 8, 2020.
He was born in Colleton County on July 21, 1952, to Mr. William Herbert Bishop and the late Mrs. Etta Mae Browning Bishop. He attended St. Johns High School where he was a star letterman football player, having a part in the team taking home the 1968 State Championship. He was also a track star besides a running back. Football was certainly life to him as he believed it modeled and shaped him for life. Mr. Bishop was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a longtime logger, owning his own business in the Logging and Land Clearing industry from 1986 until 2015. He was a lover of classic muscle cars, owning a ‘65, ’66 and ‘67 Ford Mustang and always dreamt of owning a ‘68 Mustang. He will always be loved by his grandchildren who dearly and affectionately called him “Pappy”.
In addition to his father he is survived by his son, Samuel Keith Bishop and wife Katelyn of Johns Island; his daughter, Jessica Leigh Belue of Adams Run; five grandchildren, Samuel Jaye Belue, Gracen Lane Belue, Noah William Logan Belue, Anthony Tristin Bishop and Adilynn Hazel Bishop; brothers, Whitman Rowell of Ridgeville, Bruce Bishop of Memphis, Tennessee and George Bishop of Summerville; and sisters, Deborah Fuller, Elaine Johnson, Lydia Suggs, all of Johns Island.
