Mr. William Martin Werner, 90, of Walterboro, South Carolina, passed away at the Veteran's Victory House, Saturday, October 19, 2019. He was the husband of seventy years to Mrs. Rosemary Schlottes Werner.
Born December 13, 1928, in New Rochelle, New York, he was the son of the late Albert Werner and the late Mrs. Florence Buderman Werner. Mr. Werner was a United States Army Veteran, proudly serving his country during the Korean War, serving from 1952 until 1954. During his service he earned the rank of Corporal and was decorated with the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, the U.N. Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. After his service he worked for Neptune Moving Company in New Rochelle, then later worked for Collins Brother’s Moving Company in Lachmont, New York.
In addition to his wife he leaves behind a son, Stephen Werner and his wife Marlene of White Plains, New York; and three grandchildren; Keith Werner, Lauren Werner and Christopher Werner. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Werner.
