Sara Bishop

Mrs. Sara Bald Bishop, known to everyone as “Sally”, 83, of Bamberg, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at her residence.  She was the widow of LaVerne Delano “Bunny” Bishop.

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday, August 26, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Bamberg.  Interment will follow in South End Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 4 until 7 at the home, 120 Azalea Avenue, Bamberg, as well as other times.  They will also receive friends Saturday morning from 10 am until the hour of service at the church.

Born June 23, 1934 in Bamberg, she was a daughter of the late Conrad Bald and Runelle Lybrand Bates.  Mrs. Bishop was a member of First Baptist Church of Bamberg.  She was an extremely gifted seamstress, enjoyed working with arts and crafts, and loved playing Bridge.  Her grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Surviving are: her children, Runelle Bishop Weeks and her husband Billy of Bamberg, William Conrad Bishop and his wife Donna of Cordova, and Sarah LaVerne Bishop DeRienzo and her husband Raymond of Bamberg; grandchildren, William G. “Gerran” Weeks, IV, Sarah Weeks Carter and her husband Steven, Riana Nicole Bishop, Caitlin Amelia Bishop, William Cody Bishop, Anna LaVerne DeRienzo, Reedy Louisa DeRienzo; great grandchildren, Lexie and William Weeks and Mary Monroe and Harlan Carter; sister-in-law, Delores Smith of Barnwell; and a special friend, Hattie Gordon.
