Ruth Carolyn Cox Burbage, 76, died at home on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. She was born December 1, 1942, to Robert and Helen Cox of Marcella, New Jersey. Ruth was raised in New Jersey and Texas and was a long-time resident of Round O, South Carolina until moving to Georgia during her battle with Alzheimer’s. She enjoyed Cowboy Church of LaFayette, sewing, quilting, embroidery, cooking, baking and reading. Ruth was a very caring and giving person always willing to help someone in need. She was a successful Chef and Entrepreneur, owning and running her own business for many years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, and aunts and uncles who held a special place in her heart. She leaves behind Uncle Bill & Aunt Erma Donaldson of New Jersey; two sisters-Patricia & Lee Hitzler of Eutawville, South Carolina and Joyce Scatton of Wichita, Kansas; 3 Children-Deborah & Steve Dunn of LaFayette, Georgia, Scott Hammon of Summerville, South Carolina and Elaine & Robert Keith of Mineral Wells, West Virgina; six grandchildren-Steven, Samantha, Christopher, Robert, Rebecca and Gary; eight great grandchildren; nieces and nephews-Robert, Janet, Erica & Daniel and several cousins in New Jersey and Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30am Friday morning, June 14, 2019, from the graveside at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
