Mr. Robert David Smith, 66, of Ginn Altman Avenue, Hampton, entered into rest Friday afternoon, June 8, 2018, at the Hampton Regional Medical Center.
Born January 1, 1952, in Hampton, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Robbie Lee Smith and the late Maggie Lee Thomas. He was the owner of Smith’s Paint and Body Shop in Hampton. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Hampton and will always be remembered for the love he had for flying planes as well as boating and fishing.
Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Carol Deloach Smith; four children, David Smith of Charleston, Shaun Smith of Swainsboro, Georgia, Jody Deloach of Hampton, and Julie Lynn of Kansas; two brothers, Roger Dean Smith of Hampton and Earl Lynnwood Smith of Varnville; and two sisters, Charlotte Lee Light of Varnville and Rose Mary Ferguson of Brunson. There are twelve grandchildren that also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, June 12, 2018, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Varnville. The Reverend Dan Hodge officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
