John Roger Hon

Mr. John Roger Hon, 80, of Bluffton, entered into rest Monday morning, April 15, 2019, at the Veteran’s Victory House in Walterboro.

Born January 29, 1939, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, he was a son of the late Vernon Hon and the late Mary Kraus Hon.  He served faithfully during the Vietnam Era in both the United States Navy and the United States Air Force.  He retired as a systems analyst from General Electric.  He enjoyed reading, philosophy, and music, having in his earlier years been a musician and even during his military days playing in the military band.  Sports were among his favorite pastimes, especially tennis, and soccer.  He was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan.  Family life was of the utmost importance to him. 

Surviving are: his wife of forty-six years, Mrs. Brenda Leftwich Hon; a son, CW4 Jarrett Hon and his wife Nina of Bluffton; two daughters, Erin Hon-Stringer and her wife Shelly of Norman, Oklahoma and Morgan Hon Weller and her husband Ben of Annapolis, Maryland; a sister, Carole Tyska of Bonita Springs, Florida; and six grandchildren, Chase, Reed, Sydney, Brady, Kaylee, Camden; as well as host of extended family members.

The family will receive friends during a time of remembrance at their home Thursday afternoon, April 18, 2019.
