Mr. James Wiley Thomas, Sr., known to all as “Jimmy”, 70, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, April 15, 2018 at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, April 18, 2018 from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Revered Richard Summey officiating.
Born March 9, 1948 in Cheraw, he was a son of the late Willie D. Thomas and Ada Potter Thomas. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked for a number of years with Palmetto Bridge Builders, and had also worked with Nucor Steel and the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He loved drag racing, believed in hard work and was always willing to do anything he could for other people.
Surviving are: his wife of 24 years, Brenda Robertson Thomas of Walterboro; children, Rhonda Thomas Campbell and her husband Bud of Bonneau Beach, Laura Moren of Georgia, Janet Tharpe and her husband Kent of Awendaw, Jamie Thomas, Jr. and his wife Bre of North Carolina, Brandon Thomas and his girlfriend Christina of Walterboro, Grady Bazzle and his wife Mary Helen of Walterboro, and Phillip Linder and his wife Toni of Texas; brother, Ben Thomas of Walterboro; sisters, Billie Floyd of Walterboro, Judy Smoak of White Lake, North Carolina, Ann Bennett of Michigan, and Tammy Moore of Walterboro; 23 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
