Janie Crosby

Mrs. Janie Hiers Crosby, 97, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Colleton Courtyard. She was the widow of James Robert Crosby.

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Tuesday morning, June 4, 2019 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel.  Interment will follow in Jones Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10 am until the hour of service.

Born January 7, 1922 in Round O, she was a daughter of the late Emlin Hiers and Reney Craven Hiers.  She was a member of Doctor’s Creek Baptist Church and loved fishing.

Surviving are: her children, James Roy Crosby of Walterboro and Barbara Hiott and her husband Monnie of Walterboro; sister, Annie Doris Hiers Davis of Johns Island; 6 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Crosby; sister, Mary Hiers Hickman; and brothers, Harold Hiers, Junior Hiers, Albert Hiers, James Hiers, and VonLehe Hiers.
