James Ronald Carter

Mr. James Ronald Carter, 60, entered into rest Thursday evening, January 4, 2018, at his home on the Possum Corner Road near Ritter.

Funeral services will be conducted 6 o’clock Monday evening, January 8, 2018, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.   The Reverend Gerald Mabry officiating.  The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony until 8 o’clock that evening.

Born June 12, 1957, Colleton County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Luther Williams Carter, Sr. and the late Mary Kate Campbell Carter.   He received his Bachelors degree from Charleston Southern University and was a longtime employee of Boeing.   James was an outdoorsman, who dearly loved hunting, fishing, and being surrounded by nature.  He loved his family and always centered his life around them as well as his beloved dog, “Cooper”.

Surviving are: his daughter, Beth Zaske and her husband Steven of Walterboro; a brother, Luther William Carter, Jr. of Walterboro; a sister, Mary Anne Mullins of Knightdale, North Carolina; and a grandson, Steven Kale Zaske.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Carter.
