Mr. Herman Frankie Garner, age 66, entered into rest Saturday afternoon, November 24, 2018, at his home which he dearly loved on Jungle Road at Edisto Beach, South Carolina.
Born November 6, 1952, in Augusta, Georgia, he was the devoted son of the late Bill and Evelyn Price Garner. He was a retired Pipefitter form Austin Construction and was a member of the Horse Creek Masonic Lodge, No. 174 in Langley, South Carolina. Frankie loved traveling, and especially loved music, always entertained by concerts and enjoying music of all genres. History was another of Frankie’s passions, especially the history of South Carolina. He followed politics and stayed current on world news and events. He was active in his beloved community of Edisto Beach.
Surviving are: his wife of forty-two years, Mrs. Teresa Clark Garner; a daughter, Erin Terah Garner of Edisto Beach; a son, Stephen Marcus Garner of Edisto Beach; and an uncle, Buddy Harrison and his wife, Daryl and their son, Shannon. He is also survived by a dear and lifelong friend, Ronnie Newsome, whom the two together were like “two peas in a pod”.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to the following: South Carolina Democratic Party, 915 Lady Street, Suite 111, Columbia, South Carolina 29201; or to, South Carolina Educational Television, 1041 George Rogers Boulevard, Columbia, South Carolina 29201-4761.
A Celebration of Frankie’s Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
