Mrs. Frances Sykes Bunton, 79, of Wiggins, entered into eternal rest Sunday evening, April 1, 2018 at Colleton Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Randolph Frederick Bunton, Sr., to whom she was married for 55 years.
Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Thursday afternoon, April 5, 2018 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.
Born August 30, 1938 in Hosford, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Sykes and Eloise Kent Sykes. She was a retired seamstress from Southeastern Galleries in Charleston. She dearly loved sewing and crocheting and was excellent at making draperies which are in many homes throughout the Lowcountry. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are: her children, Randolph Frederick Bunton, Jr. and his wife Debra of Soperton, Georgia, Charles Dennis Bunton and his wife Jinnell of Wiggins, Timothy David Bunton and his wife Kathy of Wiggins, and Judy Vinluan and her husband George of Smoaks; brothers, Jerry Sykes, Emmitt Sykes, and Gene Sykes; sister, Betty Quick; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Troy Steven Bunton; a grandson, Jacob “Bubba” Parham; and a sister, Sadie Arline.
