Ms. Elfriede Margarete Genzel Davis, 87, of Walterboro passed away at her residence, surrounded by her family Saturday evening, September 7, 2019.
Born March 2, 1932, in Liebersberg, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Anna Koeck Genzel. Formally married to Joseph Glenn, Ms. Davis known to many as “Grandma”, was a spunky, fun-loving, independent loved one. She lived a fulfilling life, spending time sharing stories of the many obstacles she had overcome. In more recent months, she had a new found love of snapchat. In addition, a few of her favorite sayings included “getting old is not for sissys” and “if there’s a remedy, find it, if not, never mind it”.
Survivors include: her daughter, Heidi Massey Woods of Walterboro; six grandchildren, Brandy Massey Hefner (Brian), Richard P. Massey (Heather), Crystal Massey Jackson (Jamie), Diana Davle (Michael), Christina Glenn, Nikita Glenn Boehm; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, James Glenn and many brothers and sisters.
Special thanks to her nurse, Shanté Bennett with Agape Hospice.
Graveside service will be held 9 o’clock Wednesday morning, September 11, 2019, at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
