Donald R. Burros

Mr. Donald Ray Burros, 69, entered into rest Sunday, March 18, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Walterboro while under the care of Agape Hospice.

Born April 4, 1948, in Dalhart, Texas, having made South Carolina his home in 1988.  He was a son of the late Warren Harding Burros and the late Clara Hope Jenkins Burros.   He served in the Missouri National Guard and retired from Dayco as a Quality Assurance Manager in 2000 after thirty-one years of service.  He also worked with Floralife as well as Multi-film.   He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Walterboro Lodge No. 1988.  

Surviving are his wife of nearly 49 years, Barbara Bair Burros; a son, Matthew Burros and his wife Debra of Charleston; a daughter, Dawn Herndon and her husband Bill of Lake Wylie; a brother, Warren Burros; a sister, Barbara Burros Collins; and five grandchildren, Grant, Grady, Claire, Kameron, Maegan.

A memorial celebration of his life will be conducted 5 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, March 21, 2018, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The Reverend Dr. Zane Brown officiating.  The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony until 8 o’clock that evening at the funeral home.
