Mrs. Christobel Still Ayer, 91, of Ehrhardt, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, October 17, 2018 at her residence. She was the widow of Mr. Linell Emory Ayer, to whom she was married for 62 years.
Born January 5, 1927 in Barnwell County, she was a daughter of the late John Heyward Still and Janie Lou Still. She was a retired bookkeeper for Brabham Oil Company and was a homemaker. She was a member of Ehrhardt Baptist Church. She will always be remembered for her strong Christian faith and for the love she had for her family and church family.
Surviving are: Barbra A. Brickle (Wayne) of Branchville, Larry Ayer (Debbie) of Gilbert, Janet A. Horne (Rex) of Goose Creek, and Cheryl A. Brown (Jim) of Hampton; son-in-law, Jimmy Hundley of Loris; brother, John H. Still, Jr. (Geneva) of Barnwell; sister, Peggy Jackson (Earl) of Hendersonville, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Melanie Still of Roswell, Georgia; 8 grandchildren, Clayton Wright (Susan), Brent Hundley (Nikki), Lyndsey Dobson (Brant), Eric Horne (Sarie), Joey Ayer (Melissa), Whitney Rentz (Kristin), Ashley Horne Kilgore, and Angela Cribb; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Adrine Wright. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Hundley; great granddaughter, Jayse Rentz; brothers, Tom Still (Sarah) and Marion Still; and a sister, Myrl Still (Ulysses).
Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, October 20, 2018 at Ehrhardt Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Colston Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 until 3 pm at the church.
