Carolyn Thompson

Mrs. Carolyn Dopson Thompson, 76, of Islandton, entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel.  Interment will follow in Adnah United Methodist Church Cemetery, Adnah Church Road, Islandton.

Born April 19, 1940 in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Eddie Harden Dopson and Verta Ruth Dopson. She was a member of Adnah United Methodist Church.   She loved fishing, working in her garden, and loved just being in the outdoors.  She loved Pepsi-Cola and was great at knitting and sewing.  Most of all, she loved her family, cooking for all of them, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are: her husband of 59 years, Walter Lee Thompson of Islandton; son, James Allen “Jimmy” Thompson of Lattimore, North Carolina; grandchildren, Steven Wayne Stanley, Teresa Nicole Collis, and Shawn Christopher Thompson; 11 great grandchildren, sister, Judy Moore of Islandton; and brother, Eddie “Bobby” Dopson of Islandton.
