Mrs. Betty Ruth Padgett Nettles, 80, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Pruitt HealthCare in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock, Friday afternoon, May 24, 2019, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The viewing will be prior to the funeral beginning at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Born August 3, 1938 in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Padgett and the late Lucille DeWitt. She was a former employee of Asten Hill in Walterboro, SC. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Walterboro Branch where she served extensively before falling ill. She loved to read, spending time outdoors, working with her flowers and gardening. Most of all, she will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family.
Surviving are: her husband, Leonard Lee Nettles of Beaufort, SC; brother, Franklin Padgett; son, Gary Wayne Nettles and wife Theresa Lynn Nettles; daughter-in-law, Penny Robertson Nettles. She was preceded in death by sons, David Lee Nettles, Timothy Allen Nettles and Tony Leonard Nettles; siblings, Eugene (Bubba) Padgett, Geanie Mae Padgett Thomas, Teryl Padgett and Carl Padgett.
