My condolences to the family of Bennie. I pray God comforts the family during this time of bereavement. May the many cherished memories of Bennie comfort his family and friends. A comforting thought to keep in mind is at Isaiah 25:8 "He (God) will swallow up death forever; and the Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces." The family is in my prayers.

Patricia, Jan, Bubba and Angela, So sorry to hear of your loss of Bennie. Words are just an expression of grief and sympathy. Those words cannot erase the pain of your loss but they let you know that others feel the loss with you. As time goes on the pain of that loss will soften but will not erase. We hope that you can look back and remember the times spent together and it will help to ease the pain some. Prayers for you and please know that our thoughts are with you all.

Patricia and Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Benny. You and your family have always been very special to me. You have never failed to treat me as one of your own family. There are no words I can write that can stop the hurt. I just remember that a dear aunt once told me, "When you feel the hurt is too much to bear, just think of your Heavenly Father and ask Him to put His strong arms around you and hold you close as your own daddy did." I don't know how many times I have come to him so sad and yet felt His presence as never before. He, alone, can get you through each day--just one day at a time. I love you all and you are all in my prayers.
Love in Christ,
Terry

The community of Little Swamp and the Little Swamp United Methodist Church have suffered a GREAT loss with the passing of Bennie Smoak, Sr. He was a testimony to the saving grace of our Lord and Savior and he never missed the opportunity to tell others about what God had done for him. As shared by his family - Saturday, he made a profound statement that stuck with me. He told a visiting pastor, "there is no reason for any man to go the HELL with all the chances God gives us." He is now HEALED and basking in Eternity! How precious is God's promise for His children who love Him and live according to His Word. To his family, we love you and grieve with you as you have experienced the loss of a father, friend, supporter, help-mate and provider. Cling to his memories and God's promise to never leave you or forsake you - even as you walk through this valley, He is right there beside you.
