Mr. Angris Morris Stone, known by all as “Stoney”, age 85, entered into rest Friday morning, June 14, 2019, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Walterboro. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Betty Ackerman Stone.
Born August 11, 1933, in Seneca, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Walter and Nora Stone. He served our country faithfully in the United States Navy. He worked a long and dedicated career with the American Bread Company where he became affectionately known as “Stoney The Bread Man”. Following his retirement, he began working at Wiggins Portable Buildings. He attended Black Creek Baptist Church and dearly loved Nascar Motor Sports Racing.
Surviving are: two sons, Chris Stone and his wife Kim of Walterboro and John Reeves and his wife Jill of Hampton; a daughter, Leigh Bond and her husband John of Mississippi; two brothers, Verlon Stone of Columbia and Walter Stone, Jr. of Moncks Corner; a sister, Sara Stone Gordon of Charleston; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, June 19, 2019, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Hughes Cemetery, Round O.
