Mr. Norman Allen Kinard, Sr., 67, of Ehrhardt, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at Lexington Medical Center.
Born September 15, 1951 in Allendale, he was a son of Lovenia Bessinger Kinard and the late Norman Whitsel Kinard. He was a member of St. Johns Baptist Church. Allen was the manager of Broxton Bridge Plantation. He was a hard-worker who enjoyed farming, was an avid fisherman and shrimper and was a horse enthusiast. His love of horses led him to be a member of the Thoroughbred Horse Owners Association. Allen was a true family man who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was a loving son, father, grandfather and brother.
Surviving are: his mother, Lovenia B. Kinard of Ehrhardt; children, Marica S. Thomas of Ehrhardt, Holly Nicole Kinard of Olar, and Norman Allen Kinard, Jr. “Man” of Olar; grandchildren, Imogen, Amanda Jade, Addie, Reagan, and Shelby Lynn; and sisters, Helen K. Beard of Ehrhardt, Gena K. Grover (Paul) of Barnwell, Anne K. Still (Billy) of Ehrhardt, Lydia K. Lindler (Rhyne) of Aiken, and Cindy K. Murray of Ehrhardt. Allen is also survived by many niece, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Kinard; brother, Marion W. Kinard; paternal grandparents, Ernest W. Kinard and Maime Sue McAlhaney Kinard; and maternal grandparents, DeCanie Bessinger and Lorene Ritter Bessinger.
Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Monday morning, March 4, 2019 at St. Johns Baptist Church, St. Johns Church Road, Ehrhardt. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 pm at St. Johns Baptist Church.
