Mrs. Alice Blakewood Baldwin, 70, of Hampton, entered into rest Saturday afternoon, March 30, 2019, at the Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. She was the wife of the late Mr. Philip James Baldwin.
Born March 13, 1949, in Ridgeland, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Mr. Norman Reginald Blakewood and the late Frances Cook Blakewood LaPore. Mrs. Baldwin worked for over twenty years as a teller with Estill Exchange Bank and had also worked for over twenty years at Arbor Property Management in Augusta, Geogia. She was a member of the Luray Christian Chruch. She enjoyed singing as well as gardening and working with her plants. She dearly loved her family and always cherished the many photos of her family that she possessed and proudly displayed in her home.
Surviving are: a son, Philip Scott Baldwin and his wife Emily who are stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany; a daughter, Denise Baldwin Turner of Scotia; a brother, Reggie Blakewood and his wife Debbie of Hampton; a half sister, Lisa LaPore; a special cousin, Julianna Smith; and her companion, Mike Avant. There are four grandchildren, Katelyn Baldwin Rushing, Isabel M. Baldwin, Bree T. Baldwin and Ashley Blake Turner; and two great grandchildren, Brooklyn Elizabeth Rushing and Emmlyn Jade Rushing that also survive along with a niece, Melody Blakewood MacNeil and her husband Travis; and a nephew, Tyler Blakewood and his fiancee’Chelsea.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Thursday morning, April 4, 2019, from Luray Christian Church, 71 Fitts Street, Luray. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Scotia.
