Mrs. Deloris Carter Kinard, 89, of Fairfax, entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning, September 8, 2021 at Hampton Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late H.M. “Mac” Kinard.
Born March 29, 1932 in Fairfax, she was a daughter of the late John P. Carter and Leona Gray Carter. She was a member of Open Arms Fellowship and loved going to Sunday lunch with her friends after church. She was lovingly known as “Mema” to everyone who knew her. She loved the simplicity of life with her family and truly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her life centered around being a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her flowers and spending time sitting on her front porch reading her Bible and praying.
Surviving are: her children, John M. Kinard and his wife Vicki of Fairfax, Donna K. Griner of Estill, Rebecca K. Cartier of Varnville, and Joseph C. Kinard and his wife Shea of Fairfax; grandchildren, Jason G. Griner (Felisia), Kristin G. Rentz (Whitney), Brandon M. Kinard (Rachael Crosby), Katherine K. Royal (Matt), Drayton L. Kinard (Val), Kelsi C. Solis (Christian), and Joshua Cartier (Willow); great grandchildren, Parker Rentz, Sabryn Rentz, Brad Collier, Mackenzie Royal, Charlie Kinard, Christopher Cartier, Graddy Royal, Carter Kinard, and Callen Solis; brother, John J. “Dick” Carter of Lexington; and many close family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mac Kinard; and two great granddaughters, Elizabeth Jayse Rentz and Everly Bray Solis.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Sunday afternoon from 2 until the hour of service at the church.
Funeral services will be held 3:30, Sunday afternoon, September 12, 2021 at Open Arms Fellowship, Hampton. Interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery. The family will also receive friends following the committal at the cemetery.
