Brian Pulis

Mr. Brian Bruce Pulis, affectionately known as “Pookie”, 44, of Walterboro, entered into rest Friday morning, November 11, 2022 at Trident Medical Center.

Born January 13, 1978 in Oceanside, New York, he was the son of Annette Nugent Pulis and the late Bruce Spencer Pulis.  Brian was strong and was a fighter who withstood the against him.  His infectious smile warmed your heart and being around him made you appreciate life and the small things that he loved the most like eating chocolate ice cream, sitting outside to feel the breeze and the static noise on the television. 

Surviving are: his mother, Annette “Ruthie” Nugent Pulis of Walterboro; sister, Lacy Dawn Pulis and her fiancé, Ryan Wolf of Walterboro; nephews, Tanner Wolf and Walker Wolf; aunts and uncles, Joe Nugent (Yuki), Christian Nugent-Leary (Larry), Daniel Nugent, George Nugent, Louise Johnson (C.G.), Jeffrey Pulis, Andrea Schoemmell, Jill Woodward, Lori Pulis, and Matt Pulis; and his godmother, Annie Nugent Smoak (Tony).  Also surviving are a host of cousins including, Barbara Russell Carelock (children, Robby, Riley and Reese), Anthony Russell and Jack (Sonora and Preston); Tommy Murray and Heather (children, Ava and Hannah), Jessica Nugent (Carter); Augie Nugent, Aki Cloherty and family, Danny Nugent and family, Shawny Murray (children, Lexi and Carson), John Murray (children, Ashten and Jillian), Fred Nugent, John Patrick Nugent (son, Cameron), Dina Byrns and Paul (children, Alex and Nicholas), Heidi Urban and Michael (children, Daniel and Ashley), Smitty Johnson (son, Landon), and Scott Johnson; the staff and residents of The Coastal Center in Ladson that were his extended family for 36 years; as well as many other extended family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by aunt and uncles, Audrey and Scooter Murray, John Nugent, and Rick Pulis.
