Life Legacy

Charles Frederick Hulbert, IV, affectionately and lovingly known by all as “Freddie”, age 17, of Rehoboth Road in Cottageville, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, January 24, 2013, at his residence.

A celebration of his life will be conducted 6 o’clock Monday evening, January 28, 2013, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Dr. John Carrigan and The Reverend Jakie Walters officiating.

The family will receive friends for a time of reflecting upon Freddie’s life following the funeral ceremony until 9 o’clock that evening in the Harbiston Stateroom of the Mortuary.

Born May 31, 1995, a native of Summerville, he was a son of Harry M. Hulbert and Misty Dawn Place Hulbert. He was a Senior at Colleton County High School where he was involved in drafting with plans to attend welding school this fall. Freddie had an infectious smile and was friends with anyone he knew. He loved squirrel hunting and was a very talented pianist having worked diligently on learning numerous pieces and remaining dedicated to his work until mastering each piece he set out to learn.

Surviving in addition to his parents, Harry and Misty Hulbert are: an older brother, A.J. Lonsberry of Cottageville and a younger sister, Tiffany Rose Hulbert of Cottageville. His paternal grandparents, Charles Frederick Hulbert, III of Walterboro and Gloria Ann Hulbert of Edison, New Jersey; and maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Emma Jean Speck of Waynesville, North Carolina; as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Carolyn Joan Speck.

For those that wish, in lieu of floral tributes, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to a fund established in Freddie's name at Enterprise Bank of South Carolina, 11003 Cottageville Highway, Cottageville, South Carolina 29435.

For those that so desire, memorial messages and thoughts of condolence as well as memorable recollections about Freddie may be shared with the family by visiting our online guest registry at: www.briceherndonfuneralhome.com.
