Mrs. Windel McAlhaney Altman, age 84, of Hampton, entered into eternal rest at home Tuesday afternoon, August 22, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Charles Clifton “Cliff” Altman.
Funeral services will be conducted 10 o’clock Saturday morning, August 26, 2017, from Sandy Run Baptist Church, Sandy Run Road, Hampton. The Reverend Paul Reid officiating. Interment will follow in the Sandy Run Cemetery.
Born September 20, 1932, in Hampton, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Alvin McAlhaney and the late Vivian Corrine McMillan McAlhaney. She retired from Westinghouse Corporation in Hampton and was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church in Hampton where she formerly taught the Children’s Sunday School Class. She will always be remembered for the dedication she had for her family and the strong work ethic she possessed. She dearly loved flowers.
Surviving are: four daughters, Sarah Ekseth and her husband Ray of Hampton, Jeanette Fludd and her husband Donald of Ridgeland, Brenda Lavin and her husband Mark of Hampton, Linda Davis and her husband Bryan of Hampton; three sisters, Mary Jean Bishop of Islandton, Shirley Torrence of Columbia, and Louise Brown of Hampton; a sister-in-law, Vivian McAlhaney of Hampton; seven grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Donna Reardon; and a brother, Otis McAlhaney.
