Mr. Thomas Wayne Smith, Sr., 55, of Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday morning, May 16, 2017, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Born May 4, 1962, in Beaufort, South Carolina, he was a son of the late John and Emaline Murdaugh Smith. He served our country in the United States Army and was the owner and operator of TomCat Trucking.
Surviving are: his wife of eighteen years, Mrs. Cathy DeLoach Smith; three children, Clinton Robert Benton and his wife Blue of Walterboro, Lindsey Thomas Benton (Caleb Mundell) of Walterboro, and Thomas W. Smith, Jr. (Nicki Hardy) of Walterboro; and two brothers, Curtis Edward Smith and his daughter, Nicole, and Billy Ray Smith and his wife Lisa and their children, Hannah and Dustin all of Walterboro. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Reese W. Steedley and his wife Kaylee, Daniel Steedley, Dawson Steedley, Bradley Drawdy, and Hazel Ann Benton; as well as his father and mother-in-law, Dr. C.J. and Pat Fralin DeLoach of Walterboro.
