Steven Lee Rourk

Mr. Steven Lee Rourk, age 38, of Mill Pond Road, Ruffin, entered into rest early Sunday morning, October 11, 2015, in Colleton County from injuries sustained during an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, October 14, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.

Born July 14, 1977, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of Mr. Robert Wayne Rourk and the late Patricia Fine Rourk.  He was a graduate of Walterboro High School - Class of 1995, and was a driver with John Smith Jr. Logging in Walterboro.   Steven was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed the country life.  Deer hunting was one of his greatest joys and he held memberships with Ruffin Hunt Club, Smoaks Hunt Club, and LA Hunt Club.  His greatest passion in life was his dogs.  He took great pride in raising and training Rabbit and Deer dogs.  He left this world as a giver to all and an asker of none, leaving with all many treasured memories.

Surviving in addition to his father of Ruffin are: a brother, Robert Wayne “Bobby” Rourk, Jr. of Smoaks; and the love of his life, Jennifer Lee Tiegs and her son, John Morgan Tiegs.  There are two nieces, Kayla Nicole Rourk and Brittany Michelle Rourk.   Steven was an adopted addition to many families, he touched each life he came in contact with profoundly.  Throughout his life, and from a young age, he has been a brother to Keith and Bradley Strickland, whom he has been inseparable from each day and weekend.
