Mrs. Sara McKenzie Caldwell, 83, of Columbia, formerly of Ehrhardt, entered into rest Tuesday morning, November 14, 2017, at Generations of Irmo.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, November 17, 2017, from the graveside at Ehrhardt Cemetery.
Born January 20, 1934 in Ehrhardt, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late James Monroe McKenzie and the late Sara Inez Priester McKenzie. She was a retired employee of Southern Bell in Columbia and was a member of the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are: three children, Lawrence W. Weathers, Wanda W. Watts, and Danielle P. Stroupe all of Columbia; a brother, James M. McKenzie, III of Lexington; and three sisters, Jacqueline M. Hiers of Ehrhardt, Barbara Ann M. Hiers of Ehrhardt, and Montye M. DuBose of Charleston. There are five grandchildren as well as her best friend of thirty-three years, Dennis Caldwell that also survive. She was predeceased by a son, Joe H. Weathers, Jr. and a sister Jenny Lynn M. Thomas.
