Robert Laursen

Mr. Robert Franklin Laursen, affectionately known by many as “Bob”, age 70, of Walterboro, entered into Heavenly rest Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2016, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 3 o'clock, at the Brice W. Herndon Walterboro Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Doctor's Creek Baptist Church, Walterboro.

Born August 24, 1945, a native and lifelong resident of Walterboro, he was the son of Mrs. Martha Hiott Laursen Andrews and her husband the late Mr. Alfred W. “Andy” Andrews as well as the late Mr. Franklin E. Laursen.  He was a retiree of Asten Hill in Walterboro, where over many years of dedicated service, Bob became a respected colleague for his dedication and unwavering service.  He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro, where over the years he and his mother, through their love for the church and faithfulness, have been active in many areas of the church’s work; serving in any capacity needed and belonging to the church’s senior groups, Sunday School Classes, and other groups. 

He is survived by his loving mother, Martha; and two sisters, Linda Laursen Garbett and her husband, Thomas Garbett of Mount Pleasant and Lisa Andrews of Walterboro.  He is also survived by an aunt, Mrs. Janie Hiott Gorman and her husband Herbert Gorman of Graham, Washington; and a nephew, Matthew Thomas Garbett of Mount Pleasant.
