Mr. Riddick Willie Walling, affectionately known as “Pete”, age 66, of Green Pond Highway, Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, September 27, 2015, at Hospice of Charleston in Mount Pleasant.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, September 30, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Born September 27, 1949, in Colleton County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late George J. Walling, Sr. and the late Alvie Lee O’Quinn Walling. He was a retired carpenter from Nettles Construction and was of the Baptist faith. Pete loved his family and two sisters dearly, especially his “two children”, Spanky and Trouble who were his constant Chihuahua companions. He also had a special love for fishing.
Surviving are: two sons, Willie Walling of Sniders and Joshua Walling of Islandton; three daughters, Charity Walling, Jill Walling, and Kelly Walling all of Cottageville; two sisters, Christine Walling Nettles and her husband Marshall and Barbara Walling Stone and her husband Edward all of Walterboro; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Walling, Jr. and a sister, Ruth Harrington.
