Neta Mae Johnson

Mrs. Neta Mae McClary Stevens Johnson, 89, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Pruitt Health Care Center. She was twice married, first to the late Mr. Ben F. Stevens, and secondly to the late Mr. Carlise V. Johnson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon, April 28, 2016, at Grace Advent Christian Church, 398 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Christian Church Cemetery, 1701 Bells Highway, Walterboro.

Born October 11, 1926 in Kingstree, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Workman McClary and Eula Mae Barrineau Martin. She was a seamstress, having retired from Walterboro Dress Plant. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Grace Advent Christian Church. She will always be remembered for her love of sewing and making dolls. Most of all, she loved her family.

Surviving are: her three children, Ben Stevens and his wife Deloris of El Paso, Texas, Rosemary Dandridge and her husband, Wayne of Walterboro, Lance Johnson and Ann of Walterboro; seven grandchildren, Daniel Vincent Stevens, Michele Torres, Pam Davis, Tammy Terry, Kim Rentz, Wayne Dandridge, Jr., and Rebecca Harrison, as well as 13 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by two children, Roy Stevens and his wife, Cookie, and Barbara Ann Smyly.
