He served our country faithfully in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was the retired owner and operator truck driver of BP Express.   Morgan was a sportsman who loved all types of football, having played during high school, his time in the Army and also Semi-Pro.  This love of eventually lead him to once try-out for the Chicago Bears and start a Rocket Football team for the 8 to 11 year old age group.  He truly loved children and devoted a large part of his life to kids, weather it was spending time with them, working to better their lives, or just playing Santa Clause at Christmas time.  He was very involved in Head Start for a number of years and had served as Chairman of the Board of Directors.  He was a Big Brother and along with his wife, was as a foster parent to four teen girls.  Morgan was always trying to find ways to help Benton Harbor City and their schools to become better and more enriched places for all people and their children.   Civically, he worked closely with the Blossomtime Parade Committee and was a member of the Jaycees.  He volunteered with three police departments before attending the Police Academy.

Another of Morgan’s passions was politics.  He worked for the Berrien County Michigan Democratic Party as a fund raiser.  He once competed for the seat of County Commissioner and the Sixth Congressional Seat against incumbent Dave Stockman.  He also worked closely with the Governor George Wallace for President Campaign.    Morgan never met a stranger, and if ever you had the privilege of meeting him, you were instantly his friend.
