Mrs. Martha Jo Smoak Rahn, affectionately known as “Sissy”, age 62, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, May 3, 2015, at her home on Adnah Church Road in Islandton.
Funeral services will be conducted 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, May 6, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Ricky Crosby Officiating. Interment will follow in Rice Patch Christian Churchyard, 15246 Sniders Highway, Islandton.
Born December 9, 1952, in Ridgeland, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Leo Smoak and the late Jennie Carter Smoak. She was a graduate of Rice Business College. For many years, Sissy was employed as a Customer Service Representative at Asten Hill in Walterboro, and has also worked over the years as an administrative assistant with South Carolina National Bank, Federal Land Bank, Peters Murdaugh Parker Eltzroth and Detrick Law Firm and also at Walterboro Veneer. She will always be remembered for the love she possessed for her family, as well as the joy she took in fishing and gardening.
Surviving are: her husband, Mr. Kenneth Franklin “Kenny” Rahn; a daughter, Joanna Renee Harley of Ruffin; and two grandchildren, Jenna Renee Dubose and Jessica Ann Dubose of the home. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Graham “Duck” Smoak.
